Who is RS Innovation
RS Innovation was started in 2016 by Rudy Spiessens
I graduaded as an electronics engineer MSc in Belgium in 1982 and emigrated to South Africa
During my career I specialised in micro-electronics. I designed many custom made production testers which involved micro-controller firmware design and high-level software design.
I have a passion for technology and excellent quality

Many solar systems use a CANBUS or RS485 bus to acquire battery status information and adjust the power usage from and to the battery accordingly.
Our smart meter is capable of recording active power, reactive power and maximum demand for all units. The meter also keep track of 3 different time-of-use tariffs.
With the ever increasing demand for deep cycle batteries, suppliers need to be able to confirm if the battery has indeed got the specified capacity.
The basic unit is capable of logging 3x 3-phase channels or 9 single phase channels. The unit measures active and passive energy, and thus also phase angle , or power factor.
Like most smart chargers, charging happens in 3 stages. BULK charging, ABSORB charge and FLOAT charge.
Flatguard monitors the electricity consumption and sends you an email on a weekly basis (or daily if you desire so) with an overview of the daily consumption.
